SAS recognized by NCEITA for commitment to education CARY, N.C. (Nov. 29, 2000) -- SAS Institute was honored by the North Carolina Electronics and Information Technologies Association (NCEITA) with the 2000 NCEITA 21 Corporate Education Award. The award is presented annually to a company that has contributed or provided leadership in education in North Carolina. NCEITA President Joan Myers said SAS has done that and more. "The selection committee felt SAS displays strong leadership in the improvement of education at all levels," Meyers said. "Also, with their line of SAS inSchool® educational products, the company demonstrates a commitment to learning not just through philanthropic efforts, but through product research and development, as well." Formed in January 1997 to focus on the research and development of K-12 educational technologies, SAS inSchool offers multimedia instructional software and value-added assessment and research services. SAS inSchool'sÔ multimedia instructional software received the 2000 Technology & Learning Software Award of Excellence. John Sall, executive vice president and co-founder of SAS, accepted the award at a ceremony Nov. 16 in Raleigh, N.C. "Education has always been the primary focus of our philanthropic and community activities," Sall said. "It is a true honor to be recognized for these efforts."
